We curate & trade designart!

Victor Hunt Designart Dealer’s services focus on the search for, issue and sale of limited editions by the most remarkable emerging designers, operating as a platform for development supported by an international exhibition program. Since the gallery’s inception in 2008, the collection has grown throughout all object typologies, representing a carefully curated collection of cutting-edge contemporary design.

We understand “designart” as the gray zone between industrial design, crafts, architecture, sculpture, conceptual art, installation, and many other arts, but applied to or at least suggesting objects of use— developed and manufactured with the utmost care.

Johannes Hemann, storm

Johannes Hemann,
storm

The Storm Series is by its concept the purest example of a process-design, where the designer seeks to set creative parameters to allow an object to shape itself without any further direct involvement. The aim of this project is to create forms through storm winds. Johannes Hemann create storm rooms, boxes in which he release storms by feeding high pressure air . The storm and the course of events in a storm are the base of the project: 'the silence before the storm' – the material lies on the bottom of the box – 'standstill' – the air comes in, the storm begins and the energy is transferred from the wind to the material - 'the wind stops' - the form has been shaped and the silence after the storm sets in. The storm energy is afterwards visible in the shape. Each piece is unique, each storm finds its own expressions.
