We curate & trade designart!

Victor Hunt Designart Dealer’s services focus on the search for, issue and sale of limited editions by the most remarkable emerging designers, operating as a platform for development supported by an international exhibition program. Since the gallery’s inception in 2008, the collection has grown throughout all object typologies, representing a carefully curated collection of cutting-edge contemporary design.

We understand “designart” as the gray zone between industrial design, crafts, architecture, sculpture, conceptual art, installation, and many other arts, but applied to or at least suggesting objects of use— developed and manufactured with the utmost care.

Tomás Alonso, pierre and the almond tree

Tomás Alonso,
pierre and the almond tree

Following Pierre’s Leron Lesur's ritual, a French artist from Saint Rémy de Provence, Tomás Alonso reinterpret the notion of "Sylvistructure": a unique practice at the crossing point between art and craftsmanship. Sylvistructure aims to reveal the natural beauty of old pieces of wood found on country paths. The technique involves delicately stripping the wood from decomposing matter, in order to reveal its core. Throughout his career, Pierre Leron Lesur has developed a specific interest in the almond tree: a singular tree with twisted shapes that is becoming increasingly rare in Provence. Tomás aims to reveal function within the piece of wood while respecting its natural beauty.
